First, I want to thank all my followers.  You are wonderful.  The joy I get from seeing that little notification that someone else has liked and is following my blog is matched only by the joy of seeing someone’s face light up when I’ve done something for them.   Thank you for checking out my work.  I do go to your sites and check your’s as well.  I hope I have remembered to push the little button each time, but I confess, that sometimes I get lost in perusing the material, past and present, and then get distracted by some ordinary everyday thing that demands my attention and I might miss doing that once in a while.

So of course you are wondering why I have that title up there?  I know that title sounds ominous.  What kind of person asks that kind of question?  It’s not that I don’t appreciate being able to locate things because they’ve been put in likely locations.  In this instance, it’s because nobody Else knows where to look, or maybe they really don’t care to look.  I’m a little afraid to find out.

In this instance, I’m talking about being organized as a blogger.  You see, I split my blog up into parts, to make it less diverse.  I have a recipe section now, (but it’s mostly about taking care of your thyroid) and I have a poetry blog, and one that’s pretty much all about political values.

I know that I sometimes get people on the poetry blog because I now have some followers there.  I don’t have so much going on with the other two.  Maybe it’s because there isn’t any interest in looking at them.  I suppose that’s fair.  Perhaps my followers here are more interested in the personal aspects of my life, and less about what I have to say about political things or health things.  Still, I can’t help be disappointed that those sites aren’t getting viewed as well, or maybe that’s greedy of me.

Perhaps I should just be very contented that I have followers on two sites.  When I consider it that way, that is pretty awesome to me.  Wow.  How could I want for more?  Is it worth it being organized?  Perhaps.  If only so that I don’t bore my followers with things they aren’t interested in.

Thank you for reading my musings and rants, and have a great day!

Thank you to Ifindkarma for the lovely picture of organizing boxes.

I have been reading

a variety of verses

called poetry.

There are many different forms,

and many different views

on what are called

poems.

Some are light and airy.

Some are heavy;

pulling

you

down.

Some are visceral,

gritty imaginings

of someone’s real,

and sometimes

unreal,

themes.

We are voyeurs of creation

peeking into an abyss

of dark and light

swirled onto paper

for a show.

Do we dare to object?

or imagine that we know

better than another

what is real?

or good?

or evil?

Yes.

for we are each

Creators;

borrowing from what is already,

and creating anew

another field,

another place,

another existence.

An inclined moving walkway at Beaudry metro st...

I’ve been missing in action for a couple of weeks now, and Totally neglecting my Blogs. Sorry readers.
My explanation for this is fairly straightforward;
I’m in the midst of moving from one house to another, which activity I haven’t indulged in for over ten years now,
and there is so much stuff…..
Moving
Oh, if only
I could put it all
on a moving walkway
and let it ride all the way
to it’s destination….
(Thank you Wikipedia for the photo)
Of course, in my usual pack-rat manner, I have a hard time getting rid of any of it, but I’m trying to weed out some things;
I will have to, as the house I’m moving into is smaller than the one I am leaving.
I am so glad that I have some time to do the sorting and re-packing
(some of my things have been packed for years, because of remodeling).
I can’t even remember what I have any more, it’s been so long since I’ve seen some things.
As for my blogs…
I was for a little while focusing on poetry, as I have had some experimental pieces written elsewhere and was transferring them to the now specified Poetry blog site.  It was an appropriate time to do so, as it was April, and National Poetry month.
Frankly, when I started it, I didn’t know it was Poetry month, and I didn’t have a goal of doing one poem a day, or anything like that, though some may have thought so, as there were lots of little poems being placed within it. They mostly were and are some experimental Haikus.
I hope someday to have at least some of them reach that exalted status of satisfying my desire to blend the short form with a truly inspired bit of imagery.  I don’t know that I have achieved that, but some people have liked some of the pieces, so it would seem that I have at least achieved some small measure of satisfaction with them.  Pleasing people is at least one of my goals, though the first one is to please myself by expanding my range and practice of writing.  To be More of a writer than what is embodied as a technical writer.
Someone asked me who my favorite poet was.  I answered somewhat flippantly with a quick Haiku:
Off the Top of my Head

There are so many

Longfellow and Elizabeth

B. Browning (of course)

but that isn’t necessarily right, as there are others I have liked just as well, some who are not so well known, and some who are.  It is impossible for me to have a very favorite, or a Most favorite, as it depends entirely on the mood I’m in when I read them, and that changes almost with the weather.

I wish you all a good week, and will see you again soon, but not very soon.

Sincerely,

E Maria…..

Luciffer versus The Lord (Madach) Slovenčina: ...

Luciffer versus The Lord (Madach) Slovenčina: Lucifer proti Pánovi (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

When once I glanced upon a star aglow in all it’s glory,

I chanced to wonder just how far its light had traveled nearly.

And does it have a limit to how long its glow will tarry?

Or can it burn forever bright as far as light will carry?

If once it shudders and collapses is it because it’s weary?

Or can a star, rebellious, find past limits cost most dearly?

What is a black hole made of? Is it matter, anti-matter?

Or is a star intelligent, or mad as the Mad Hatter?

Once collapsed but previously, a star, so shining brightly.

Was it once an added upon of souls that traveled rightly?

Can I but dwell in righteousness, will I journey so directly?

Or maybe stop one step away, dwell first as planet, earthy.

When star was sun, did it by chance deny its truest maker?

And as result, get cast away, a swirl of Outer Darkness?

Did it refuse to operate as light source for creation?

Or was there something else that stopped its brilliant conflagration?

Did it swell with pride, its limit reach, strained to go much further,

and thus, collapse into itself, from reaching too much over.

Like Lucifer who shone so bright, and fostered insurrection,

did it try to take on too much power and end its sussuration?

I’ve been practicing poetic forms in another forum, and I’ve created not a few Haiku’s while there. Some of them are pretty good, and some of them are simple, and some of them are both.  I’ll leave it up to you to decide which ones are worth reading, but I’m going to include a few of them here together.

So as to not get the titles confused with the actual form,  the Titles of each are in bold italics.  I hope you enjoy the reading.

These next few are dedicated to Maggie, who’s thoughts were the inspiration for them.

Mourning Dove

When in doubt, I close my eyes, hold my breath;

I open them again, and count to twenty.

Breathing in, breathing out, leaves death to death;

Refocus my heart on seeing plenty.

The things I’ve seen are all recorded;

engraved upon my heart forever.

If someday diligence is rewarded,

Pain and suffering will visit, never.

While I’m waiting here, there will be others

Who’ll use another to make life easier.

There’s no single day that comes to mothers

where someone’s life is not made queasier.

Mourning tears for the dearest departed.

Those gone before would not begrudge me,

I hold up my head, not broken-hearted.

In setting aside the pain and suffering,

We make time to honor what remains;

Not forgetting time for sorrowing,

There’s still time enough to live, and love again.

For Angel and Sirocco

We gave away two kittens today, one female and one male.

One had dark brown ears and bright blue eyes and stripes upon his tale.

One lithe and quick and playful, one thoughtful and sincere,

One’s throat as clean as fallen snow with paws almost as clear.

One’s coat as short as velvet, one’s shiny as sateen;

One’s face a mask of smoky streaks, with sand thrown in between.

We gave away two kittens today, but all we now can feel

Is sadness that we’re missing more than two could e’re have been.

Cat Conspiracy

My cat has been here  7 years.  She’s fixed and quite the lady.

My daughter brought home half grown kits; they’ve had some pretty babies.

We’ve kept a few that grew on us, but have to get their rabies.

There’s no more room, the place is full. My cat is going crazy.

The first cat thinks  the second cats are terrible and lazy.

She doesn’t think that other cats should be allowed the spacee.

My cat dislikes to share her place, and doesn’t share her people.

She growls at them and hisses too, for them she has no scruples.

I try to hug her tight to me, but she scratches, and she pulls;

she eyes the others with distrust, and hides beneath the table.

I miss my cat; her soft meow, her silent, rumbling purr

was often felt to me a solace, to stroke her soft black fur.

Sometimes she will call to me, and arch her back for petting,

but then she spies the other ones, and leaves the room complaining.

She doesn’t feel her place is right, while others are in waiting.

And so she misses out on love; because she’s busy glaring.

Pain comes from disappointment.

We expected more from ourselves.

Our expectations are our enemies.

Anger comes from fear.

We fear what we do not understand the end of.

Fear is the opposite of faith.

Despair comes from giving up on yourself.

You are afraid you don’t have the right stuff.

God believes you are always worth hoping for.

If God believes it, why don’t you?

He is smarter than you.

He already knew you before you were here.

He knew there would be difficulties.

That’s why he agreed to pay the price for you ahead of time.

After everything you can do, he will do the rest.

Do everything you can.

Do what you must.

Trust him.

He will bring you home.

He is not disappointed.

He already knew what would happen.

He only wants you to let him help you.

I was angry.

Now I am not.

I was afraid.

Now I am not.

I felt despair.

Now I have hope.

There is no rational explanation for what I feel.

It just is.

Because it is what it is.

That is the nature of the challenge.

If there were no difficulties,

How would there be a test?

If there were no test,

Why bother with this type of existence?

God could make us all run on automatic with only a little tweaking.

But he doesn’t,

Because he wants the test to show us what we are, and can do, and can’t do.

Then we will be satisfied

that where we are placed is the right place for us.

We will all be happy.

Everyone will be happy.

I will be happy.

So I may as well start being happy now.

Enthralled with form, the function ignored.

The reason was there, without the rhyme.

Her loss of focus reduced the words

to one of convenience in limited time.

The question nags her to voice her concern.

She hangs her head no longer to worry.

The gift neglected, in moments returns;

the prose, select, when not in a hurry.

What words to us, as time directed,

Birth the newest conceptual image.

Choose carefully the picture selected,

Else chaos reigns o’er the resulting scrimmage.

She asks.

Do you care?

What’s it to you?

Cautious, she hesitates.

You aren’t the one.

Who sees me?

Not you.

Her.

Having been one.

Her present is more.

Her future less.

Somewhere in the after-thought of getting something done,

there lies a set of reasons too profound.

You run, and run, and run until you lose yourself in motion,

hoping that your actions won’t be found.

You’re looking for a sign and you think you’ve found the one,

but the feeling that is loosed is run to ground.

You’re standing in the rain where the sun is pouring down,

the king will sleep  it off, while the Jester’s getting crowned.

There isn’t something new where there isn’t something old

And you can’t get satisfaction from the cold.

But the simple truth is this, if you haven’t had a kiss,

You won’t get any more than what is told.

We look at all our follies and we wish we hadn’t bothered,

But our wishes won’t get wheels put on our ride.

If we want a better outcome, then we have to work it out some,

And we’d better get a handle on our pride.

A man.

A simple man.

A complex man.

A married man.

A wounded man.

A lonely man.

A man.

One.

Then two.

He thinks

He Needs another

For something more.

Before there is two,

There is

One.

Alone.

He stands alone.

He missed the bus.

She was the one.

She waits at home.

He forgets his place.

He looks for her.

Alone.
