An inclined moving walkway at Beaudry metro st...

I’ve been missing in action for a couple of weeks now, and Totally neglecting my Blogs. Sorry readers.
My explanation for this is fairly straightforward;
I’m in the midst of moving from one house to another, which activity I haven’t indulged in for over ten years now,
and there is so much stuff…..
Moving
Oh, if only
I could put it all
on a moving walkway
and let it ride all the way
to it’s destination….
(Thank you Wikipedia for the photo)
Of course, in my usual pack-rat manner, I have a hard time getting rid of any of it, but I’m trying to weed out some things;
I will have to, as the house I’m moving into is smaller than the one I am leaving.
I am so glad that I have some time to do the sorting and re-packing
(some of my things have been packed for years, because of remodeling).
I can’t even remember what I have any more, it’s been so long since I’ve seen some things.
As for my blogs…
I was for a little while focusing on poetry, as I have had some experimental pieces written elsewhere and was transferring them to the now specified Poetry blog site.  It was an appropriate time to do so, as it was April, and National Poetry month.
Frankly, when I started it, I didn’t know it was Poetry month, and I didn’t have a goal of doing one poem a day, or anything like that, though some may have thought so, as there were lots of little poems being placed within it. They mostly were and are some experimental Haikus.
I hope someday to have at least some of them reach that exalted status of satisfying my desire to blend the short form with a truly inspired bit of imagery.  I don’t know that I have achieved that, but some people have liked some of the pieces, so it would seem that I have at least achieved some small measure of satisfaction with them.  Pleasing people is at least one of my goals, though the first one is to please myself by expanding my range and practice of writing.  To be More of a writer than what is embodied as a technical writer.
Someone asked me who my favorite poet was.  I answered somewhat flippantly with a quick Haiku:
Off the Top of my Head

There are so many

Longfellow and Elizabeth

B. Browning (of course)

but that isn’t necessarily right, as there are others I have liked just as well, some who are not so well known, and some who are.  It is impossible for me to have a very favorite, or a Most favorite, as it depends entirely on the mood I’m in when I read them, and that changes almost with the weather.

I wish you all a good week, and will see you again soon, but not very soon.

Sincerely,

E Maria…..
